    Processing and Reporting
Matrix On Board's accounting practitioners are skilled at processing financial transactions, including making payments, receiving income, preparing accruals and monthly adjustments, payables and receivables, running all aspects of payroll, and reconciling accounts to ensure the books balance. We can support 'in-house' bookkeepers and provide a reference point to keep processing on track.

    High Level Financial Reporting
Matrix On Board prepares monthly reports for the CEO and the Board. Each report includes progress compared to budget, cost centre performance, balance sheet, payables, receivables, cheque register, etc. The report is tailored to your needs. We also include a commentary of summary with 'hotspots' to be aware of. We usually know what questions to ask; we assess where and why things may be going wrong; we can assist to manage changes to systems to improve efficiency and accountability.

    Budget and audit preparation
We regard budgeting as a key ingredient to successful planning and implementation of program objectives. We work with our clients to build the budgets from funding submissions and business planning processes. We facilitate the six monthly and end of year budget review. We work closely with the auditor to ensure a smooth budget process, attempting to reduce costs by preparing well for the audit review.

    MYOB Diagnostic
In a simple and timely process, we can review an MYOB datafile and prepare a report with recommendations about the quality of the accounts, the processing, the reconciliations, and the general 'health' of the datafile.

    Accessible Information
We produce financial reports in plain English for Board members and staff in order to have greater confidence in exercising their responsibilities, and being able to ask the right questions of accountants, auditors and funders.

    Risk management
Alert clients to financial risk areas; ask questions of the client which will lead to implementing more effective and efficient systems; look at financial reports from the auditor’s perspective, a “pre-audit audit”

    Bookkeeper in a Box
This service, for smaller NGOs or remote services, provides a simple solution where in-house bookkeeping is difficult to manage. Having experienced, affordable and available people to process transactions is not easy for all NFPs, and Bookkeeper In A Box provides for trouble-free processing and reporting.

    MYOB Reseller
As MYOB Professional Partners, Matrix can assess which MYOB product is right for our clients, and give full discounts on new purchases and upgrades. [Call Meryem on 02 9281 1700]

  • • Strategic Planning
    • Business Planning
    • Program Reviews and Evaluations
    • Executive Coaching

Performance appraisal or review is the process whereby business plans are utilised to help set agreed employee work goals. Supervisors provide staff members with feedback and support, including advice, assistance, training and development, to help achieve these goals.

    Policies and Procedures
Policies are the rules by which Boards and employees agree to work. Without good policies and the procedures which flow from them, there is the inevitability of confusion and error.

Written policies and procedures come from:
Consulting users to identify strengths and weaknesses of current organisational policy and practice.
Developing and enhancing policies and procedures specific to the corporate culture of your organisation and taking into account legislative requirements
Training staff in translating policy and procedure into practice.

  • Matrix has developed a one-day workshop for managers and Boards of Management in Making Sense of Financial Reports, and has provided training in "Managing Risk using Financial Reports", "Developing Budgets for Successful Planning", "The Value of Financial Reports to Boards of Management". These workshops are accessible for people with limited training in financial reporting, have been well received and demystify many aspects of financial management.

Over 300 people have attended these workshops in 2006, and they have been particularly well attended by DOCS' funded services across the state, and DOCS' CPO and CSA staff.

"Thanks again for your session. It was good fun as well as informative, and pitched at just the right level for what we need to know."
