Financial Management Training
Matrix On Board is working with the NGO Training Unit of DoCS to deliver training to non-government agencies to enhance their capacity. By better understanding the financial processes within the organisation ~ from budgeting through processing and reporting and auditing ~ NGOs can master their viability and have the confidence to make good decisions. This relationship will be extended to meeting other training needs of NGOs through 2006.
Capacity Building in Aboriginal Services
We are working with three non-government out-of-home care providers and DoCS to identify where these organisations can increase placements for Aboriginal children and young people and to improve the quality of service provision. The decision to prioritise building the Aboriginal OOHC sector has been a response to the high numbers of Aboriginal children and young people in OOHC.

Financial Capacity Building Project
Matrix will join with SVA and the AMP Foundation to support a significant new initiative to improve the financial capacity of NFP's in strategic financial planning; financial reporting and systems understanding.
The project will also develop case study material on at least 5 SVA supported ventures and run workshops on practical finance ~ content and delivery ~ for social ventures.

A project has been developed to explore the benefits of sharing resources and 'back office' services amongst clusters of not-for-profit organisations. The Project is intended to be a pilot project whereby new clusters of NFPs can form relationships, establish protocols and Memoranda of Understanding, to benefit from shared resources and achieve efficiencies through economies of scale.

Supporting the Sector's bank
The CSB, as part of the Bendigo Bank network, provides a range of products which are specifically suited to non-government agencies. In particular, their on-line banking provides a world-standard security setup for management committee signatories, and their Salary Sacrifice product saves employers considerable time and expense, and benefits employees. They also have very competitive deposit rates.
Matrix can assist CSB customers with Business Planning services, particularly where they are seeking loans from the Bank.
The CSB is owned and managed by the Sector. To learn more about the Bank, download this profile, or visit their website...
Matrix receives a referral fee from the CSB, which helps keep our costs down for our clients.
